What Is Starlink?

SpaceX has engineered a new innovative technology called Starlink. This is branded as “The world’s most advanced broadband satellite internet”. Starlink  is a constellation of thousands of satellites that orbit the planet much closer to Earth, at about 550km, and cover the entire globe. As the Starlink satellites are in a low orbit, latency is significantly around 25 ms vs 600+ ms.

How Are They Innovating?

Traditionally, satellite internet services come from single geostationary satellites that orbit the planet at 35,786 km. As a result, the round trip data time between the user and satellite is high, making it nearly impossible to perform high data rate activities, such as gaming. To fix this issue, SpaceX developed Starlink to deliver high-speed, low-latency internet to users all over the world.

What Is The Starlink Product?

You can order Starlink online which arrives as a kit. This kit holds your Starlink, WiFi router, cables and base. You can then manage this using a mobile application that has been developed, which allows you to customise settings and receive real time data. The product works in even the most remove locations; all it requires is a clear view of the sky to connect.
